Halloween was far from scary here at Gillen Brewer! Unfortunately due to the weather, Fall Family Fun Day was cancelled, but no fear- we brought the fall fun here! The students were able to choose from eight different activities. These included decorating pumpkins, decorating masks, creating slime, decorating with pumpkin stickers, applying tattoos, a ring toss, a dance party, and even a Halloween movie. The students really enjoyed this special activity!

The Clouds already had their first two visits with Gabby from Art Farm! On her first visit, she brought Freddy the rabbit, Tabitha the hamster, and Reese the guinea big. What do all these animals have in common?... Ask your cloud! (Hint: rhymes with fammals) We learned that these types of animals have hair or fur, are warm-blooded, and have a neck bone. On Gabby's second visit, she brought reptiles with her! We had the pleasure of meeting Rosie the bearded dragon, Frank the chuckwalla lizard, and Mark the crocodile lizard. The clouds learned that Rosie puffs out her body for defense, is camouflaged to hide in the deserts of Australia, and is an omnivore. On the other hand, Frank is an herbivore, comes out during the day, and has sharp claws for digging. Lastly, Mark is nocturnal, a carnivore, and swims like a crocodile! All of the students were very responsible and brave when touching the animals! The Clouds celebrated Grandparents' Day by inviting grandparents and special guests to their classroom for the afternoon! Once the special guests arrived the students showed them around the classroom guided by a scavenger hunt they had previously typed up. After everyone finished the scavenger hunts, the students and their grandparents participated in community games. The students had a lot of fun teaching their grandparents different games, such as Dweebies, Chess, and Sorry. Many of the grandparents were amazed at everything the Clouds are learning in the classroom! The Clouds want to thank all of the grandparents that were able to attend, especially the ones who traveled great distances to get here, the students really appreciated it! |
